Concrete Coring and Cutting

This is an area that can add up to a lot of money on a project if it is not estimated using the right process.  In order to estimate the costs of coring, aside from calling a sub that specializes in it, is to estimate the cost of the equipment acquisition, repair and maintenance costs, bit replacement (consumable) cost, set up, cleanup/containment costs,  mobilization and demobilization.

The equipment related costs are spread across the useful life. The setup is by the location and number of holes to be core drilled per project.  Keeping records by diameter and depth of hole is very important!  The amount of water that is used for each hole determines the time and expenses for containment of the water and cleanup.

Mobilization and demobilization are the costs to get the manpower and equipment to and from the jobsite.  The distance to the project, duration and other factors influence these costs.  They are usually spread across the number of holes drilled on unit price contracts.
